In its fifth edition, SVR 2002 will be in the beautiful city of Fortaleza. The SVR symposium gathers students and researchers (from Brazil and abroad). The Program Committee of SVR 2002 solicits tutorial proposals. Each tutorial will be presented in a 3 hours session. The tutorials can be presented in Portuguese or English. The Program Committee will consider proposals for introductory and advanced tutorials on any topic within the area of Virtual Reality. Introductory tutorials should target an audience consisting of undergraduate and graduate students. Hence, they can be thought of as "recycling" courses. Introductory tutorials should be preferably in Portuguese. Advanced tutorials, on the other hand, must cover a broad state of the art (addressing the work of the leading research groups) besides motivating and exposing potential research issues. The authors should indicate clear the level of audience they are expecting. Only an abstract (1-2 pages) of the accepted tutorials will be published in the symposium proceedings. However, copies of the presentation material and lecture notes (at least 5 pages long) must be made available in a website. This material will be required in advance (September 2002). Depending on funding availability, SVR 2002 will cover travel and lodging expenses for one author per accepted tutorial. The presenting author will be required to register for the Symposium. The Program Committee of SVR 2002 reserves the right to invite for presentation tutorials which will not be subject to the selection process this call for tutorials refers to. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Tutorial proposals should be submitted in Portuguese or English and must contain the following (please do not send slides/handouts): 1. Tutorial title and the authors' name, affiliation and e-mail. 2. Type (introductory or advanced) and language of the tutorial and a short abstract stating its main goal (one paragraph). 3. Outline of the tutorial (containing section titles and their respective descriptions with at most one paragraph for each section). 4. List of related references. 5. Information on where this tutorial has been presented before (or is under consideration for presentation). 6. A short bio of each author (one paragraph for each author). 7. Special audio-visual needs (e.g. overhead projector, data show, multimedia projector, etc.). 8. Description of the supporting material to be distributed at the symposium (e.g. lecture notes, copies of slides, etc). 9. To submit the proposal, please, fill the form attached .
